Bjarni Sigurbjörnsson studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute. In his art Bjarni pushes at the limits of the painting, and plays with the material of painting in combination with other media. Bjarni has developed a painting technique in which he works with colour flow, combining colours, water and oil on Plexiglas. This mixture of substances gives rise to conflict on the picture plane, sparking a creative process that is partly autonomous and partly due to the artist’s intervention. Bjarni’s art has been shown all over Europe and the USA, for instance at the international biennale in Los Angeles in 2003.
