Classes for children
Spring 2026
The National Gallery of Iceland offers creative and exciting art classes for children in the art workshop of the museum on Fríkirkjuvegur 7. The courses draw inspiration from the museum’s exhibitions, where artworks on display are explored and participants develop their sense of color and form. They will have the opportunity to use a variety of materials and work in different media such as painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
The goal of the course is to encourage children to approach art with greater confidence and curiosity through experience, discussion, and hands-on practice. At the end of the course, there will be an exhibition for friends and family showcasing the participants’ work.
