Preparations for the Children’s Culture Festival are in full swing!

24.3.2026

In recent months, the National Gallery of Iceland has been working on a large and diverse exhibition for children at the House of Collections on Hverfisgata, where the exhibition Stand Still and Turn to Stone! has inspired children in their creative work.

The exhibition Stand Still and Turn to Stone! is accompanied by educational material of the same name, which includes discussion of all the works in the exhibition, selected folktales, creative games, songs, and sheet music.

The museum is full of life every day, where joy takes center stage, as can be seen in the images below.

We look forward to introducing the project in more detail in the coming weeks.

The Children’s Culture Festival takes place from 20–26 April 2026.
