The National Gallery of Iceland and Heiða Björk Árnadóttir are seeking information about artworks that were exhibited at Listamannaskálinn in Reykjavík during the Cultural Week of anti-occupation activists, March 3–11, 1962.
The exhibition featured 48 paintings by 20 artists and 17 sculptures by 7 artists, a total of 65 works. The current owners of some of the works are known, but the majority remain unidentified today. We are therefore reaching out to the public in the hope of receiving further information. The names of the artists and the titles of the works can be found in the accompanying exhibition catalogue. For reference, photographs published in newspapers at the time exist of five of the works shown in the exhibition.
All information regarding this exhibition is greatly appreciated.
