An expert-led tour of the work Glassrain by Rúrí in the National Gallery of Iceland.
Glassrain is an installation from the year 1984 and is one of Rúrí´s first works in a series that is concerned with time and looming threats. The work is composed of a cluster of 500 razor-sharp and dagger-shaped glass shards that hang in various lengths from the ceiling to the floor. Any movement past the work stirs the air so that the glass shards begin to turn.
