Iron, Linen, Charcoal and Chalk
An expert-led tour
An expert-led tour
The exhibition features three-dimensional works and a video work by Þóra Sigurðardóttir that have never been exhibited before. They are the product of the artist´s observations dating back to 1992. The source is the rhythm of daily life, quotidian subjects and space. Abandoned houses; material memory and its properties; a journey and a process of transformation. Iron, linen, charcoal and chalk. Layering, points of intersection, two-dimensional and three-dimensional structures, framework. Calendar. An awareness of the possibility that a rule might break, the center of gravity might crumble, and chaos might ensue.

The events calendar is aimed at senior citizens and is composed of specially designed tours as well as discussions with the museum´s experts on fine art, ongoing exhibitions and the work of the National Gallery of Iceland.
The events create opportunities for guests to approach art and our national heritage from different perspectives.
The National Gallery´s Quality Time events are always accompanied by coffee and pastries. The pastries are contributed by Bread and Co. which sponsors the project.

Attn. The event will be held in Icelandic
