Masks, Music, and Symbols

What lies behind a mask? The works of James Merry will inspire a creative mask-making workshop. We will also explore works by Björk, and guests of the Kids’ Club will have the opportunity to “draw music” and create their own musical notation, inspired by the artwork Sorrowful Soil.

The Gallery encourages families to visit and view the art on their own terms. We also offer diverse programming on a regular basis with an emphasis on enabling families to enjoy time together in creative ways, whether through live guided tours or custom workshops. All events are advertised specially in connection with exhibitions. The Krummi Kids' Club is a diverse and fun monthly program where kids can learn about the National Gallery's collection, create art, and play in a nurturing environment. The National Gallery of Iceland gives a warm welcome to all children and guardians!
