Museum Shop Day, November 23rd

Museum shops across the capital area are rolling out a warm welcome for Museum Shop Day on Sunday, 23 November. To mark the occasion, visitors can enjoy special offers on unique treasures, refreshments, events, and delightful surprises. Museum shops are true treasure troves, filled with publications, design pieces, prints, and objects inspired by museum collections and exhibitions—making them fascinating destinations in their own right. Come and discover products with soul and history – meaningful gifts that leave a lasting impression.

Participants in Museum Shop Day include:

The Museum of Design and Applied Art om Garðabær, open from 12pm to 5 pm, Gerðarsafn í Kópavogur, introducing new products in its shop, The National Museum of Iceland, offering 20% off selected items. At Hafnarborg, visitors can enjoy a cosy atmosphere with coffee, gingerbread, and selected books on offer.

From 4–6 PM, the National Gallery of Iceland will host a celebration featuring a new gift-wrap collection inspired by works by Guðmunda Andrésdóttir and Eyborg Guðmundsdóttir.

At the Reykjavík Art Museum, joy and creativity fill all three buildings, where Erró takes centre stage at Hafnarhús, Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir will sign books and posters at Kjarvalsstaðir from 2–4 PM andVisitors will receive a warm welcome at Ásmundarsafn

The Reykjavík City Museum invites everyone to the Settlement Exhibition in Aðalstræti, the Maritime Museum, and the Reykjavík Museum of Photography, where selected items will be available at special prices.
