Hjálænur

Björg Örvar studied at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts 1975–79 and at the University of California, Davis, USA, 1981–83. During her long career in art she has held many solo shows and taken part in group exhibitions in Iceland and elsewhere, taught art, been nominated for art awards, and been resident artist of the town of Kópavogur. She is also a writer, who has published a novel and volume of poetry. Works by Björg are in the collections of the National Gallery of Iceland, the Reykjavík Museum of Art, other municipal and corporate collections, and owned by banks and private collectors.
