The National Gallery of Iceland and the Reykjavík Art Museum are proud to join forces in hosting this comprehensive exhibition of the works of Steina Vasulka.
Steina is a pioneer in visual art rooted in sound, video, and digital technology. Her experimental approach and sense of play have inspired generations of artists around the world. This exhibition spans her artistic career, from the emergence of portable video recording devices to immersive installations that integrate video and sound.
A symposium on Steina’s legacy will be held, Friday October 3 at 1 – 5 P.M. For registration and program press here
Steina: Playback is organized by MIT List Visual Arts Center in collaboration with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, curated by Natalie Bell, Curator, MIT List Visual Arts Center, and Helga Christoffersen, Curator-at-Large and Curator, Nordic Art and Culture Initiative, Buffalo AKG Art Museum.
