Glowing Halos
Halos are common symbols of holiness and kindness. Einar Jónsson’s works feature many different kinds of halos. Some are simple and smooth, while others surround an entire figure and are richly patterned. We will explore these diverse and beautiful halos and then create our own halo to wear, while reflecting on the importance of being kind.
The Gallery encourages families to visit and view the art on their own terms. We also offer diverse programming on a regular basis with an emphasis on enabling families to enjoy time together in creative ways, whether through live guided tours or custom workshops. All events are advertised specially in connection with exhibitions. The Krummi Kids' Club is a diverse and fun monthly program where kids can learn about the National Gallery's collection, create art, and play in a nurturing environment. The National Gallery of Iceland gives a warm welcome to all children and guardians!
